Popdance meet the Dragon that is Theo Paphitis

A St Albans born dance business became Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday Winners earlier this year.

Sue Wybrow, the founder of Popdance, and her guest, Sally Shepherd from Eve and Adam Day Spa, were invited to meet the Dragon himself at the #SBS Winners event in Birmingham last week.

“Theo is such a down to earth businessman”, said Sue, “being part of the #SBS family means support, encouragement, advice and working together as a team.  Theo’s determination for small businesses to succeed in this economy is very clear to see and the event enabled us to meet with other businesses and share our experiences as well as gain from Theo’s.”

“The day was very motivational”, said Sally, “I will certainly be having a go at becoming an #SBS winner”.

Theo Paphitis meets the dance that is PopSmall Business Sunday, shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter, was created by Theo in October 2010.  Each week Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet including the all-important hashtag #SBS.
Each week Theo reviews and chooses his favourite lucky six who are then re-tweeted. As he has over 400,000 followers, this provides a massive boost to the chosen lucky businesses.

Popdance have grown rapidly in the last 3 years and now run classes, parties and events nationally as well as in Dubai, America, Greece and Australia.

“It’s hard work”, said Sue, “but as I absolutely love what I do, it doesn’t feel like work – and seeing our growth is a real boost to the whole team”.
