You Can Do It!

Sue WybrowWhen we started Popdance back in January 2009, we had no idea of what was ahead of us!

What started out as a dance class just for me and my friends as a hobby, has now turned into an international business working with amazing dance teachers across the globe!

Who would have thought it?

For someone who is not a dance teacher, but had a passion for wanting to dance, regardless of age, size or ability – I still love attending Popdance each week.

I’d never run a business before, I had no idea about the dance world, but I had a passion for marketing as well as wanting to dance like Kylie! ;)

I’ve had days when I wondered why I was doing it

I had days when I lost money on some classes

I had days when everything seemed to go wrong

But, I also had days when I loved every minute of it

Days when we made a very good profit

Days when everything went right

6 years on I’ve learnt tons.  I’ve learned that things don’t happen overnight.

That there is no “floodgate” that is going to naturally open.

That small steps in the right direction enable you to build a solid business.

21I’ve also learned that I couldn’t do it without an amazing team.

That I can’t do everything on my own.

I’ve learned what my strengths are.

And I know what my weaknesses are.

And I know each of the team are specialists in their own areas too.

So, why am I telling you this?

Because you can do it!

Believe in yourself!

Make mistakes along the way, learn from them and carry on!

You can make a fantastic living doing what you love!

You can do it!

The Slight Edge - Jeff Olson

There is a fantastic book I read called “The Slight Edge” – totally recommend it – it’s all about “the little things” and making “slight” changes to get you to where you want to be. A fab read.

Market your classes, parties and events.
