Working with Incredible Dance Teachers into 2020!

OMG! How did that happen? 10 incredible years of working with amazing dance teachers!

What started as a simple dance class for people like me, has turned into a hugely successful, international dance business!

Giving Dance Teachers a platform to showcase what they offer as well as being able to bring them additional revenue with Popdance is working extremely well.

Having worked with dance teachers over the past 10 years, we have learned sooooooo much! We know that they all have a real passion for what they do! That really goes without saying, but we also know that teachers really value support. It’s not easy running a dance business. So being part of a team, being able to ask questions to your peers, having each others backs, promoting their businesses, providing additional income for them and being a central source for them to tap in to really makes a difference.

We also know that some dance teachers want to simply be paid to turn up and teach. They want the admin and marketing part of it done for them and they simply run the class, party or workshop. Whilst other dance teachers are more than happy to liaise with the customer directly.

We know that some teachers want an “add on” to what they do already, whilst others want to make Popdance their career.

We also know that some teachers want to take some time out, to spend a bit more time with their families, or some have been injured, so can no longer teach themselves all the time. Popdance enables you to have a team, so that you can still generate a great revenue but not have to deliver it all yourself!

So, over the last 10 years, we have worked with thousands of dance teachers – all across the world. From here in the UK, to Oregon and Florida in the USA, to Azerbaijan, to Greece, to Cyprus to Spain.

We promoted their dance classes, their ballet, their tap, their ballroom, their zumba, their FitSteps, and we’ve brought them additional revenue with Popdance parties, workshops and classes.

So, what next for 2020?

Well, we want to get YOUR dance business on the Popdance map! We want to help and support dance teachers to promote what they do as well as give them that additional income with Popdance.

We want to be able to connect our customers directly with our dance teachers – so that you can charge the right rates for your area (wherever you are in the world), where you can chat local venues, where you can meet those customers exact requirements.

All with our help and support!

Getting your dance business on the Popdance map WILL put you in front of a wide, active and ready made engaged audience who are looking to dance! And, it will bring you additional revenue.

2020 is THE year for your business! Book in a chat with us, or speak to any of our Popdance Teachers to find out more, see how Popdance has made a difference to their lives. Some of our Popdance Teachers are in the facebook group Dance Teachers World – join the group for all sorts of tips, help and support for your dance business.

Careers For Dancers

Careers for Dancers:

Why I became a Popdance Area Manager – Lianne Holt

After having my first baby almost 2 years ago I found balancing my work and family life incredibly hard. I still loved my job, had a passion for dance and teaching, but felt I was missing out on my little girl and her growing up. I wanted more time at home, but still had a mortgage to pay and a career I didn’t want to give up.

I was already working for Popdance, doing parties, classes and heading up the choreography when Popdance area managers were talked about it.

It was perfect for me, I knew the industry so well I could continue to book parties and run classes, but pay someone else to take these jobs for me.

I was still taking a wage and involved in a business that I loved, but able to do it from my home and spend more time with my little girl. I had full support from Popdance HQ who talked me through the business side of things and gave me the tools I needed.
My husband and I are planning to expand our family and I’m so glad I found this role as I know it’s something I can continue to do and build around my family life.

Popdancing Is The Answer To A 30-Year Problem

Written by Jane Sandwood

According to the NHS, UK obesity levels have more than trebled in the last 30 years, and more than half the population may be overweight by 2050 if current estimates hold true. This is a problem that needs immediate attention, because obesity can lead to many health problems and even life-threatening diseases. One of the most widely practiced and effective ways to lose weight is engaging in physical activity. However, many people are unable to stay physically active on a regular basis because they treat exercise as a chore. As such, it is essential to choose a form of exercise that is enjoyable, such as popdancing. Taking a regular popdancing class not only helps you lose weight; it is also a great way to meet new friends and have a really fun time.

Why is Obesity on the Rise?

There are a number of reasons why obesity is on the rise. Firstly, as life becomes more convenient and effortless with the availability of better transportation, online shopping, and delivery services, people tend to become less physically active. Also, the increasing importance of information technology and advancement in robotics mean that people will be spending more time sitting in front of computers and doing less physical labour. Even recreation has shifted to more sedentary activities such as watching movies and playing video games. In addition, diets have changed, with more people consuming fast food and processed food, which are major culprits of weight gain.

Health Risks of Being Overweight

Being overweight does not only affect your appearance and self-confidence; it can result in an increased risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Additionally, obesity can reduce your life expectancy by up to nine years, and increase health risks in pregnant women. It can also put extra pressure on your joints and limbs, making movement painful and increasing your susceptibility to mobility problems.

Popdancing is the Answer to Your Obesity Problem

The good news is that you can dramatically reduce your health risks just by reducing your body weight by five to 10 percent. While it seems easy enough, many people fail to lose weight because they find the endeavour too boring. If you want to fight obesity successfully, you have to make sure that you use a method that is enjoyable and seemingly effortless to you. Popdancing is a fun way to lose weight. Besides helping you shed unwanted pounds, it also enables you to achieve a leaner figure, build stronger muscles and bones, improve your aerobic fitness, and even enhance your mental health.

Presently, there are many popdancing classes available throughout the UK. Joining one of these classes enables you to meet new friends and share weight loss stories and tips, which can go a long way in making your fight against obesity more fun and effective.

Why Choose Popdance Kids For Your Child?

Rianna Parchment, Popdance Area Manager for Redhill writes:

The basic benefits of any dance or exercise class are endless!

They are a great way to:

Get some exercise

Have some fun

Learn a new skill

Improve flexibility & balance

Develop musicality & rhythm

However, we believe that our classes provide all of this along with a little something extra too:

We improve children’s confidence

Our Popdance Kids classes are open to all abilities within the specified age range – this means that even if your child is an absolute beginner who loves dancing around the house there is a space for them in our classes.

Our Popdance classes have no exams or assessments – instead they are full of encouragement and taught by teachers who can easily adapt movements to the ability level of our students.

We encourage teamwork & support

In our classes, children are encouraged to work with students from different classes and year groups, helping them to form new friendships. In the ‘Descriptive’ section of our class, children work with a partner to create new dance moves based around our weekly theme.

We recognise that all children have different strengths and weaknesses, and all our classes are non-competitive.

ZING Dance Studio are on a mission with Popdance to get children active and improve their confidence whilst having fun! We are proud to be the only dance school in Redhill offering Popdance classes and events for children aged 2-11 years. Come and join us to see for yourself www.popdance.co.uk/redhill
